You have a price list already — a spreadsheet, a PDF, a photo of a board, or a page on your website. Kordless can turn it into a draft Book you review and approve. Read this page to finish with a publishable Book in Test mode.

Your situation

This path is for you if you already have prices written down anywhere — a spreadsheet, PDF, photo, or website. If you have no price book at all, start from no price book. If you price from memory and experience, start from quote from experience.

How this path works

You give Kordless your price list, it reads it and drafts a Book of plain-language pricing rules, then you review, correct, calibrate, and verify those rules. Only verified rules can ever reach a customer. This page shows the exact steps with a real example.

The example we follow

Nova Auto Studio is a small detailing business. They have a one-page price list on their website that looks like this: We will follow Nova as they import this list and take the Book to Live. Any place you see Nova, do the same with your own price list.

Steps

Open Book start

From your workspace, click Book in the left navigation, then Start a new Book. If you already have a Book, see Create or switch workspace to make sure you are in the right workspace.You will see three starting methods. Choose Import existing pricing — it says it takes a spreadsheet, PDF, photo, or text price list and drafts a Book from it.

Add your price list

Upload the file, take a photo, paste text, or drop in a link to your website price page. Nova uploads their website price list as a PDF.Kordless reads the file and starts extracting. The Book shows Extracting in the top-right status chip. Extraction usually takes less than a minute, but larger files can take longer. Leave the tab open.

Review the draft

When extraction finishes, the status changes to Needs review. Open Review in the Book menu.You will see every rule the Book contains as a plain-language sentence, such as:
  • “Interior detail base price is $150.”
  • “Trucks and SUVs add $50 to the interior detail price.”
  • “Full detail price is $240.”
Check that each sentence means what your price list meant. Fix anything wrong with Edit. If something is missing from your price list, add it with Add rule. See Review the draft for full detail.

Answer questions

Kordless may ask you questions about gaps in your price list — for example, “What is the price for a ceramic coating on a truck?” Answer the ones you can with Looks right, Not needed, or by choosing a value. Questions marked Required to publish must be answered before the Book can publish. See Answer questions.

Calibrate with example jobs

Open Calibrate. Kordless generates boundary cases — jobs where a small detail might change the answer, like a truck with a ceramic coating. For each case, pick the outcome you would actually quote:If you have old quotes, you can also add them as historical cases so the Book matches how you priced those jobs before. See Calibrate scenarios.

Verify the statements

Open Verify. Every material rule must be explicitly verified before it can reach a customer. Read each statement and choose Verify. The Book cannot publish while any material rule is unverified. See Verify Statements.

Preview and publish to Test

Open Preview & publish. The preview shows how the Book compiles and any remaining blockers. When there are no blockers, publish to Test. This does not reach customers — Test is your sandbox.Nova publishes to Test and tries a few sample quotes before moving further. See Preview and publish.

Go Live when you are ready

When you are confident, open Preview & publish again and publish to Live. The environment indicator in the top bar changes to Live. Only now can quotes reach real customers. See Test and Live.

Completion check

  • The Book status chip shows Live (or Live · changes pending if you edited after publishing).
  • Review showed Ready to publish with no blockers before you published.
  • Every material rule was verified.
  • You published to Test first, tried sample quotes, then published to Live.

Stuck? Start here

Open Review the draft to see whether extraction completed. If the file was a photo, make sure the prices are readable and in focus. Try pasting the text instead of uploading a photo.
Only Required to publish questions block publication. For anything else, skip it and continue. You can answer more questions anytime. See Answer questions.
Publishing to Test is a separate step from publishing to Live. Open Preview & publish again and choose Live. See Preview and publish.
The Book shows Live · changes pending. Your customers still see the Live version. Open Preview & publish and publish the changes when you are ready.
