Start a Book from a supported starting point — a set of seeded services and suggested rules for your trade and currency.

Before you start

  • A workspace with an active Test environment (your first Book always starts in Test)
  • A trade and currency for which a supported starting point is available

Steps

1

Open the Book start screen

From the Book overview, select Start your Book (or Add pricing if a draft already exists). The start screen asks: How would you like to start your pricing?
2

Choose Start from a supported starting point

Selecting this method navigates to a dedicated picker page — it is not an inline text field like Import or Explain. The picker shows the services available for your trade and currency.
3

Pick your services

Select the services you offer from the list. Kordless seeds them as clearly labeled Suggested rules for you to review, adjust, and verify.Nothing is authorized until you say so.
4

Submit

Submit your selections. Kordless provisions your first Book workspace, seeds the selected services as suggested rules, and prepares the draft. You land on the Book overview, which shows the draft with the next legitimate action.

What Kordless produces

Each selected service becomes a set of suggested Statements — pricing rules written in plain language. These rules carry a Suggested provenance chip, which means they come from a supported starting structure, not from your files or your explanation.

What remains unverified

Every suggested rule is unverified until you explicitly verify it. The Suggested chip identifies origin, not authority. A seeded rule is not yet an authorized price — it becomes one only when you verify it through Verify Statements.

When no starting point is available

If no supported starting point exists for your trade and currency, the picker page tells you and directs you to one of the other starting methods:

Combining with other methods

You can add sources from other starting methods to the same Book later. For example, start from a supported starting point and then import a price list to fill in specific prices.
