Answer questions

Answer open questions so the Book can cover more cases. Questions appear grouped by business consequence, with the hardest first, so you answer the smallest set that materially changes coverage or safety.

What the Answer questions page shows

Questions are grouped by what they affect. Each group is a section with a label and description. Within each group, questions appear as a list. Each question shows:

• The prompt — a plain-language question about your pricing
• A Required to publish or Optional chip
• The answer control — what you use to respond

If there are no open questions, the page reads “Nothing to answer. Every open question has been resolved.” New questions may appear later when sources change or coverage gaps emerge.

How to answer

The answer control depends on the question type:

Choose a value

Some questions present a set of options. Select the one that applies and submit. These are typically questions where Kordless found multiple possible values in your sources and needs you to pick the correct one.

Confirm a value

Some questions ask you to confirm an extracted or proposed value. Select Looks right to accept it, or Not needed to dismiss it (only for optional questions).

Resolve in draft

Some questions cannot be answered with a simple value — they require you to add or correct a rule in the draft. These questions show guidance: “Until you add a price for these cases, Kordless routes them to review rather than guessing.” You resolve them by going to Review draft and correcting the relevant rule.

Required versus optional

• Required to publish — You must answer this question before the Book can be published. It appears with a warning chip.
• Optional — You can dismiss this question with Not needed without blocking publication. It appears with a neutral chip.

What happens when you answer

When you submit an answer, the question leaves its group and the page refreshes to show the remaining questions. Your answer writes through the URL-authoritative write transport — it never directly mutates a Live Book. Answering a question may:

• Open new questions (if the answer reveals a new gap)
• Close related questions (if the answer resolves multiple gaps)
• Change the coverage counts on the Book overview
• Change the Book state (for example, from Needs answers to Needs calibration or Needs verification)
