Before you start
- A workspace with an active Test environment (your first Book always starts in Test)
- Repeatable pricing knowledge that you can describe in words
Steps
1
Open the Book start screen
From the Book overview, select Start your Book (or Add pricing if a draft already exists). The start screen asks: How would you like to start your pricing?
2
Choose Explain how you quote
Select the Explain how you quote row. An inline text field appears. The placeholder reads: “Describe how you decide what to charge. What do you sell, and what changes the price?”
3
Write your explanation
Type how you currently decide pricing. Mention:
- What you sell
- What factors change the price
- What you charge for
- What you will not quote automatically
4
Submit
Submit your explanation. Kordless provisions your first Book workspace, ingests the explanation as an interview source, and schedules extraction. You land on the Book overview, which shows “Extracting” while Kordless reads your explanation.
5
Wait for extraction
Extraction finishes shortly. When it completes, the Book overview updates to show the draft with the next legitimate action.
What Kordless produces
Kordless reads your explanation and produces a structured draft: services, rules, factors, tables, and policies derived from what you described. Each extracted rule carries a You told us provenance chip so you can trace it back to your explanation. What remains unverified
Every extracted rule is unverified until you explicitly verify it. The You told us chip identifies origin, not authority. A rule you described is not yet an authorized price — it becomes one only when you verify it through Verify Statements.Source label
Your explanation is labeled How we quote as a source. You can add more sources — including files, a guided setup, or a supported starting point — to the same Book later without recreating it.Combining with other methods
The Explain method works well alongside Import. For example:- Paste a price list using Import.
- Add an explanation of how you handle exceptions or edge cases using Explain.
If it does not work
