What Are Kordless Phone Numbers

Kordless voice agents answer inbound calls through a dedicated phone number. You can claim a local number and assign it to a voice agent so customers can call your business line.

Common Use Cases

Once you claim a number, you can:
  • Use it as an after-hours number so calls are always answered
  • Forward or transfer calls from your main line to the Kordless number when you need coverage

Pricing

Phone numbers are FREE and are included with the Kordless Agent Pro monthly plan. Each organization gets up to 5 free North American numbers.

Limits and Rules

  • Multiple numbers can be assigned to the same agent.
  • A single number can only be assigned to one agent.

Before You Start

  • Make sure you have at least one voice agent ready to deploy.
  • Decide which country and area code you want customers to call.

Claim a New Number

1

Open Phone Tab

Go to Agents and switch to the Phone tab.
2

Choose a country

Select the country where you want the number to be based (US or Canada).
3

Pick an area code

Enter an area code to narrow the results.
4

Search available numbers

Review the list of available numbers and select one.
5

Claim the number

Confirm the claim to add the number to your account.

Assign a Number to a Voice Deployment

After claim, use the selected number when creating or editing a Voice agent deployment. This connects inbound calls to your agent and routing rules.

Manage Existing Numbers

Switch the Active Number

If you have multiple numbers, select the one you want to use for new voice deployments.

Remove a Number

You can delete a number you no longer need. If it is attached to a deployment, update the deployment first so calls do not break.

Troubleshooting

  • No numbers available: Try a different area code or country.
  • Calls not connecting: Verify the voice deployment is live and uses the correct number.
  • Wrong routing: Check the deployment routing settings and destination.
