# Reviews showcase

> Put your best Google reviews on your site and keep them there.

The **Reviews** tab (inside Showcase, your company's website) pulls in reviews from Google, lets you choose which ones appear on your website, and keeps them there — even if Google removes the original. Reviews that meet your rating threshold surface automatically; everything below the threshold waits for your approval.

## Connect Google reviews

Reviews come from your connected Google Business Profile. If you linked Google during onboarding, reviews are already syncing.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Reviews tab">
    In the Showcase, click the **Reviews** sub-tab at the top of the page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect Google (if not already)">
    If no reviews appear, go to **Settings → Integrations** and connect your Google Business Profile. Once connected, Kordless pulls reviews automatically on a recurring schedule.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sync now">
    Click **Sync now** to pull the latest reviews immediately. Syncing is rate-limited to once per minute so repeated clicks won't fire duplicate requests.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Success:** your Google reviews appear in the list, tagged with their source and star rating.

<Accordion title="No reviews appeared after connecting">
  Google may take a few minutes to return reviews for a newly linked profile. If the list stays empty after a sync, verify the connected Google Business Profile has a Place ID — reviews require a valid place. Go to **Settings → Integrations** to check the connection status.

## How reviews surface

Reviews follow two paths onto your website:

* **Auto-surfaced** — reviews at or above your minimum-rating threshold appear on the site automatically. The default threshold is 4 stars. Change it at any time (see below).
* **Held for approval** — reviews below the threshold land in a held queue. You decide whether to surface or hide each one.

When you approve, hide, or change the threshold, the live site is refreshed automatically — no separate publish step needed.

## Curate reviews

<Steps>
  <Step title="Approve a held review">
    Find the review in the held list and click **Approve**. It appears on your live site immediately.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Hide a review">
    Click **Hide** on any surfaced review to remove it from your site. The review stays in your list (hidden) and can be unhidden later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the auto-surface threshold">
    Click the threshold setting and choose a minimum star rating (1–5). Reviews at or above the rating surface automatically; everything below waits for approval.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Success:** the live site reflects the change within seconds. No publish button — review curation refreshes the site snapshot directly.

<Accordion title="A review I hid came back">
  A hidden review can be unhidden — but if it meets the auto-surface threshold, a sync may re-surface it. To keep a review off the site permanently, keep it hidden and lower the auto-surface threshold above its rating.
</Accordion>

## The reviews widget

The reviews section on your website renders from a widget configuration you can customize — layout, accent color, and how many reviews to show. Edit the widget from the **Blocks** drawer in the website editor when a reviews section is on the page.

## What persists

Reviews you approve are copied into your site's live snapshot. Even if the original review is deleted from Google, it stays on your website until you hide it. This is deliberate — your curated showcase is your record, not a live mirror of Google's listing.

<Accordion title="A Google review disappeared from my list">
  If Google removes a review, it stops appearing in new syncs. Reviews you already approved stay on your site. Reviews you hadn't approved are gone — they can't be recovered once Google removes them.
